Heronswood Primary School and Pre-School
At Heronswood, we strive to make the time our children spend at school as fun, exciting, engaging and as memorable as possible. We recognise that children learn best when they have an emotional connection to the activities they are participating in. We do this through a stimulating, vibrant curriculum but also by bringing in outside people and by taking the children out on trips and visits.
Please see our Facebook Page - Heronswood Primary School and Pre-School for our most recent updates since May 2025.
Click on any of the News Posts below to find out what exciting things our children have been up to.
As Musicians, Year 4 have been 'walking the bass line' on the glockenspiels.
As Food Technologists, Year 2 have made their own dips. They had to cut up and mix all the ingredients, the dips were extremely tasty!
As Mathematicians, Year 1 have been learning to count in 2's, 5's and 10's. Please sing along to the songs we have sent home on Seesaw!
As mathematicians, the Pre-School children have been exploring measurements, focusing on tall, short and long. They have engaged in a variety of learning opportunities within Pre-School and the Woodland area!
Did you know today is Fair Trade Day? In our PSHE lessons, Year 3 have been learning about the relationships we form with people who make the products we buy. We compared the lives of Fair Trade farmers to ones that were not paid a fair price for their crops. #FairTradeDay #JigsawPSHE #fairtrade
Year 3 have enjoyed learning the skills needed to play dodgeball this afternoon.
Our children performed special dances commemorating the King's Coronation today at our Coronation Picnic. Thank you all for coming and enjoy your long weekend!
As Writers, Year Six have been close reading and commenting on texts to see how effective they are.
As Historians, Year 5 have studied photographs from previous Coronation celebrations.
As Artists, Year 2 have been experimenting with warm and cool colours to see how they effect the mood of a painting.
