Heronswood Primary School and Pre-School
At Heronswood, we strive to make the time our children spend at school as fun, exciting, engaging and as memorable as possible. We recognise that children learn best when they have an emotional connection to the activities they are participating in. We do this through a stimulating, vibrant curriculum but also by bringing in outside people and by taking the children out on trips and visits.
Please see our Facebook Page - Heronswood Primary School and Pre-School for our most recent updates since May 2025.

As Designers, Year 2 have worked hard to create their own glove puppets to promote positive mental health. We are so proud of their resilience and determination! They look fantastic!
As Historians, Year 2 conducted their Great Fire of London experiment. We were able to witness how and why the fire spread so quickly and understand the legacy that was left behind.
Our Christmas celebrations are well underway at Heronswood Primary School. Last week, over 100 children from Year 2 - Year 6 took part in our Christingle Service at St. George's Church. The children sang beautifully and put on a wonderfully festive performance.
Some of our Christingle choir singers visited Herons Park Nursing Home to perform some carol songs for the residents. It was a joyous performance with many of the residents joining in. We even had the chance to visit the grotto. Children represented our school impeccably making us really proud.
As Historians, Year 3 have enjoyed learning about The Stone Age this term. This week, children explored making pots using an ancient technique called coiling. Look at their creations!
Lots of Elf antics across Pre-School & Tots yesterday! 02/12/24
