At Heronswood, we strive to make the time our children spend at school as fun, exciting, engaging and as memorable as possible. We recognise that children learn best when they have an emotional connection to the activities they are participating in. We do this through a stimulating, vibrant curriculum but also by bringing in outside people and by taking the children out on trips and visits.

  As Sports-People, Year 4 have been sprinting and learning Handball techniques in PE this week.

  As part of our Traditional Tales topic, the children have been exploring the story “Jack and the Beanstalk”. The children had the opportunity to plant their own beans to grow beanstalks and we will be watering them and observing how they grow over the next few weeks!

• Wyre Forest's SustFest 2023

  Here at Heronswood, we are taking part in Wyre Forest's SustFest. So far, Heronswood's Sustainability Squad has spent some time in our new garden area. We have planted some fruits and vegetables and cannot wait to see our plants grow!

  

• Year 4 Residential to Condover

  Our Year 4 children had a fabulous residential to Condover last week.  The sun was shining and the children participated in a number of activities including abseiling, high ropes, initiative exercises and a sing song round the campfire.
