Welcome to Heronswood Primary School & Pre-School!

In Reception, we have two classes of 30 children which means we have an intake of 60 Reception children each year. 

We start our transition process as early as possible, following school places being confirmed by Worcestershire County Council in April.  Please see our timeline below. 

1) Letter/email to all new families - May

2) New Intake meeting for parents/carers - June

3) Transition visits for children into their new classes - July

4) Home visits for children who do not attend our Pre-School - July

5) Children start school full-time from day one - September 

6) Children in Reception all receive a free hot lunch and free fruit for snack - September

7) Children in Reception wear their PE kits on a Wednesday - September 

6) Classroom visits for parents/carers - September

7) Phonics Workshop for grown-ups with children - October

8) Settling in Pupil Meetings - October 

Please ensure you have applied for your child's school place before January 15th.
