Heronswood Primary School and Pre-School
At Heronswood, we strive to make the time our children spend at school as fun, exciting, engaging and as memorable as possible. We recognise that children learn best when they have an emotional connection to the activities they are participating in. We do this through a stimulating, vibrant curriculum but also by bringing in outside people and by taking the children out on trips and visits.
Please see our Facebook Page - Heronswood Primary School and Pre-School for our most recent updates since May 2025.

Featuring highlights from across The Rivers CofE Academy Trust this past academic year:
This week Pre-School have been busy exploring minibeasts!
Maths in Tots is lots of fun......
What a lovely week back in Pre-School.....
As Artists, Year 5 have been studying Omar Aqil. They have created some fantastic pages of research.
As Mathematicians, Year 2 have been exploring how different combinations of money can make the same amount! We used manipulatives and technology to support our learning.
Year Four are having the time of their lives at Bell Heath! The sun has been shining and there has been lots of smiles and laughter. Yesterday, the children arrived and enjoyed their day of activities.
Bell Heath Part 2. Children are really enjoying themselves, challenging themselves both physically and mentally and showing super perseverance. We are very proud of you!
Bell Heath Part 3. Anyone with a head for heights? Children had to climb the extremely tall and wobbly quad-pole and then stand on the top platform waiting for their other three team mates to join them. Although there were some initial nerves, the children smashed this task, showing us how amazing they were with overcoming their fears. Group 4, you made Mrs Kingston extremely proud!
Bell Heath part 4. Dinner time is always a favourite! The children have been independent in selecting, collecting and disposing of their leftovers - not that there has been many! Children have also supported clearing the tables and sweeping the floor.
