At Heronswood, we strive to make the time our children spend at school as fun, exciting, engaging and as memorable as possible. We recognise that children learn best when they have an emotional connection to the activities they are participating in. We do this through a stimulating, vibrant curriculum but also by bringing in outside people and by taking the children out on trips and visits.

    As Mathematicians, Year 1 have been learning about odd and even numbers this week in our Mastering Number sessions. Ask your child if they know any odd or even numbers. Can they explain how they know?

    As Geographers, Year 2 have been exploring physical and human features in each of the 7 continents. This week, children sorted images of physical features into rivers, mountains, deserts and lakes. They then researched famous physical features such as Banff National Park and the Great Barrier Reef.
