At Heronswood, we have two separate Pre-School Rooms. 

Firstly, we have Heronswood Tots, a Pre-School room for our two year olds.  Heronswood Tots is situated in a purpose built room, next to the main school building. 

Secondly, we have our Pre-School classroom, for three and four year-olds, which is situated within the school building next to our two Reception classrooms.
Both of our rooms are bright, vibrant and engaging spaces which has been specifically designed and created with young children in mind. The rooms have dedicated zones to enable our children to learn about the world around them, in fun and exciting ways. Specific areas for maths, early writing, role play, art and crafts, phonics, construction and reading, ensure children are exposed to a wide and balanced curriculum. 

Outside we have a purpose built area for our children to enjoy, with climbing frames, scooters, sand pits, water trays, a mud kitchen and a pirate ship. An area where they can safely run and play, climb and explore.

Our staff encourage and develop warm relationships which enable children to flourish and grow whilst developing their personal skills, communication skills and social skills; preparing them fully for their transition to primary school.
